When I make a set of plans ready to be printed, they have to be put on a plot (print) template in Autocad Architectural Desktop. I then make them into the PDF files for easy download in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
I use several size plot templates to be be printed. The majority of my plans will print out on regular size 8 1/2" x 11" print paper when I can get a full size or full half size template on one. When I have longer and wide full size templates, especially legs and valances, will be on at least a 24" x 36" plot template. Some of my older plans that go back to 1999 will be on the 24" x 36" plot template.
No problem to get the larger size templates printed. Most all large office supply stores, architects, surveyors and print shops can print them out for you cheap. I've got several friends that use my plans get them printed at a local Kinko's, Office Depot and Office supply stores. Several get theirs printed at a surveyor's office, usually not more than a couple of bucks.
