Measured Antique Furniture Plans For Beginner Woodworkers
Flat Creek Hanging Wall Cupboard
I found this Flat Creek Hanging Wall Cupboard over in the Flat Creek Community in an old corn shed. The original had butt joint joinery. The finish on it looked white on the inside and a dark red on the outside.
The Laruel Ridge Dowry Chest
Measures 22 3/4" high x 34 1/2" long with trim x 18" deep Circa mid 1800's. The original panels were made from one single Cherry board.
Ladies Desk Chest
A lady brought this to me and ask me to reproduce one for her. She calls it her Ladies Desk Chest and said it had been in her family all of her life. I think maybe a period candle box us what it actually is. It's butt joint joinery with tiny nails. The size is 12" long x 9" high x 8 3/4" wide. It was painted and looked like it had been made with Chestnut. Full size templates.
The Preacher's Bench
We found this bench in an 1800's church when our millwork shop was doing the restoration on the interior wood. The reason we're calling it the Preacher's Bench is where we always saw the preacher sitting when we were inside working. He told me the bench had been there as long as the church as far as he knew and was probably what they used when the church was first built. We've probably built a 100 of them for women's kitchen table benches. It's simple and fun to build. Glued and nailed together.
