The Rabun County Stump Creek Mule Chest
I found this chest, more or less per say, on the back side of nowhere in a collector's home of Colonial American antiques. It has a maker's mark on and is from the early 1800's built by a local Rabun County craftsman. The original is built out single from Walnut and Chestnut boards beautifully hand planed. The raised panels are hand carved on all four sides. Every bedroom in our home has one of these chest sitting at the foot of the beds.
